Rise and Fall of a Legend
There was a time where you couldn’t go far without hearing the name “Tim Tebow.”
The guy had an image, a character, a media personality – he even had a funny little thing called “The Tebow” that people, to this day, continue to imitate. If you did your research or got your sports channels through providers like cabletelevision.net/time-warner/ or similar, well, you knew he was everywhere.
Then, just like that, he was gone. Yesterday’s news. A punch line in an ever-expanding and hostile sports world where excellence was constantly demanded.
So what went wrong?
How does someone so big fall so far?
Many sports analysts cite the old adage of too much too soon. He showed tremendous promise in the early phases of his career which made him absolutely irresistible to drafters and scouts all over the NFL. The problem was that before anyone had a chance to really gauge his weaknesses, he was already so deep into contracts and deals that there was nothing anyone could do about it.
He became a darling of the NFL world and the pressure coupled with his comparable lack of experience led to his ultimate failure. He wasn’t ready and his greatness diminished as more responsibility was heaped upon him.
